Objective :
- This project is to carry fresh water from Vumbe
side to Faza town through land and sea in Kenya at east of Africa.
General Project Information in brief
- Three wells with large diameter were drilled and
equipped in Vumbe village.
- A 90 mm HDPE pipe transfers fresh water from
Vumbe Village to Faza town.
- Three submersible pumps and electromotors were
installed at each well. Two of these pumps work simultaneously and the third
one was used as standby. The total flow rate is
80 m3 /day.
- Two diesel generators with 10 KVA capacity were
installed to produce the required power of all electro pumps and also
lightening of the sites.
- About 4000 meters of the pipeline is layed at
Vumbe side, about 8000 meters at sea part and about 1000 meters at Faza side.
- Two 50 m3 ground water tanks were constructed to
store fresh water at Faza town.
- An elevated 20 m3 tank at a height of 15 meters
were built at Faza side.
- A centrifugal pump with a horizontal shaft which
works at operation point of 17m head and 5m3/hr flow-rate was installed to
carry water from the 50 m3 ground reservoir to
the elevated 20 m3 tank.
